Galveston Children’s Museum

Galveston Children’s Museum provides engaging, hands-on activities that are perfect for families traveling to Galveston with children. The museum is structured in a way that encourages children to be playful, curious, creative, and inspired. Hands-On Exhibits 

Children to who love to build and tinker will enjoy the Building Zone, Tinker Workshop, and Explore and Discover Zone. Build a creation on the interactive Lego wall, make new creations with child-safe tools, and experiment with electrical circuits. Your child will love learning through this explorative play! Make-believe play in Our Town and Kid’s Clinic, where your child can reel in a fresh catch and treat stuffed animal patients. Budding artists will love A Stroke of Genius, where they can create masterpieces with paint, clay, textiles, and more. Parents, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show as your child is the star of their own onstage production. With a stage and puppet theater, children can bring real and imaginary characters to life. 

In addition to their regular exhibits, check the museum’s calendar for monthly special events. Monthly Family Free nights offer families free admission from 4pm-7pm. While many museums prohibit visitors from touching, the Galveston Children’s Museum is exactly the opposite. All of their materials are child-friendly, and exploration is encouraged! 

Planning Your Excursion 

The Children’s Museum is located in the city of Galveston on the first floor of the historic Moody Mansion at 2618 Broadway. They are open Tuesday – Saturday, 9:30am – 5:00pm and 

Sunday 12:00am – 5:00pm. They are closed on Mondays except during summer. Tickets are $7 for children two and older, and free for infants under two. With any inquiries, call (409) 572-2544.
