Galveston Island Shrimp Festival

Galveston Island Shrimp Festival is a celebration of all things shrimp, hosted by Yaga’s Entertainment in Galveston’s Historic Downtown Strand District! You might expect to eat gumbo, boiled shrimp, shrimp cocktails, pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich… and more!

The gumbo stroll allows participants to taste dozens of contestants’ delicious gumbo to vote for their favorite. Many Galveston restaurants participate, along with local seafood chefs, so you know you’ll get a wide variety of amazing gumbo!

Visitors to the festival will be able to purchase a Gumbo Sampling Cup in advance for $12 for a limited time only. This cup will allow guests to sample gumbo from cook-off teams comprised of amateur and professional cookers.

Professional teams from some of Galveston Island’s famous restaurants will also be selling various dishes for public purchase.
