Bed and bathroom too small, no fishing light and fishing areas and furniture needs to be clean!!!!!

We have booked a lot & stay at many places each year, this one was a bit disappointing. We made the best of it & enjoyed family time, but I wouldn’t book again, sorry. Jamaica beach is wonderful. This property is more like a “rustic canal cabin.” The outside needs a lot of clean up, work, care & love. Downstairs outside has much to be desired. Upon arrival downstairs we noticed trash, cigarette butt & poop in the small grassy area. Runny poop on the DS patio furniture & bird poop everywhere. DS outdoor are- unleveled (caution for kids & elderly), large holes where the bulkhead is washing out (caution). Broken picnic table & broken umbrella; one picnic table usable & two plastic chairs but all had to be cleaned. The grill & bbq pit need replacement; the bbq pit is literally falling apart. The grill was extremely dirty & falling apart but we spent time to clean it & use it the best we could to cook our one meal. Only one light worked DS by the unit, none of the lights by the water worked at all; we bought bulbs even & they shorted out right away so after three we gave up. Thankful we brought several citronella candles & several flashings. There is a broken piece on the gate & some shingles coming off the house on the staircase, just be careful. The DS unit is nice once we sprayed & let it air out; the musty smell went away. The units are not inside. The DS TV does not work so we had to buy a Roku to make it usable. The oven is wobbly & is unsafe. One coffee pot did work. Everything else DS was as expected; the DS unit is very convenient if you spend a lot of time outside like we did & have elderly guests w/you. Upstairs in the main home is pretty nice & a good space. The sliding glass isn’t clear to see out, but the light coming in all the windows/blinds was nice. The ice maker doesn’t work so buy ice before you leave. The outside has broken & warped picnic tables, two nice foldable lounge chairs & some tall chairs (didn’t use)- everything had to be cleaned including the railing as there was bird poop literally everywhere. It’s clear the cleaning fee & cleaning crew is purely inside & nothing is done outside. The inside was very clean, the linens, towels & toiletries were all great! We only cooked one time but there was more than ample pots, pans, dishes, cups, bowls, utensils, etc. & I saw starter seasonings. The frig/freezer is large & spotless clean & everything worked as normal. Hope this helps the next person with expectations & packing.
