What do Jamaica Beach Homes include?

Jamaica Beach is one of the most popular beaches and sought after neighborhoods when it comes to vacation rentals – what it lacks in size, it makes up for in action during the summer months, holidays and event weekends! Jamaica Beach borders the West side of the Galveston Island State Park, which is 1,921-acres and spans the width of Galveston Island with four distinct ecological zones: salt marsh, coastal prairie, sand dunes and maritime wetlands and sandy beach.

Jamaica Beach Vacation Rentals offer a public community pool, private boat ramp (Regatta Basin), a community pavilion and a neighborhood park. It’s is located on Galveston Island’s West End, and is surrounded by the city of Galveston to its East and West, but has been its own city since 1975. This beach town takes pride in this, with its own fire department, police department, city hall and city ordinances, separate from the City of Galveston.

All Jamaica Beach homes are equipped with fully stocked kitchens including pots, pans and dishes to make breakfast, lunch or dinner, and guests are so close to so many delicious places to eat so if you don’t feel like cooking or decide to order in after spending a long day on one of Galveston’s beaches.

Jamaica Beach History

For history buffs, check out the historic marker “Karankawa Campsite” plaque at Jamaica Beach City Park, on the Southeast corner of Bob Smith and Jolly Rodger. The Karankawa were Indigenous people, concentrated in southern Texas along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The Karankawa fought with the Spanish, French and English, served in the Mexican Army, were known for their skill in the art of wrestling and one of the only tribes known to keep dogs.
