Things To Do Near The Preserve at Grand Beach

Spend a day at the beach by choosing any one of the multiple access points in the neighborhood. 

Ryson encourages our guests to check out local shops and restaurants in Galveston’s Historic Strand District, which that are just minutes from The Preserve. Another amazing spot to check out is Pier 21, located in the downtown area and has a great seafood restaurant, where you may dine and sit out on the bay or even take a boat ride at sunset. 

The Preserve is also close to the Seawall Boulevard, where many more restaurants like Mario’s Seawall Italian Restaurant and the Galveston’s Island Pleasure Pier is located.

The Preserve is just minutes from the Galveston Ferry that will take you across the bay to Port Bolivar, and to other local beaches, like Apffel Beach or better known as East Beach, or Stewart Beach. Both of these beaches offer rentals of umbrellas and chairs for the day.

The beaches in the surrounding area hold regular events, one of the largest being the annual AIA SandCastle Competition at Apffel Beach. every year in the summer months. Teams take months to come up with ideas and plan how they will build their masterpiece. On the day of the competition, teams are allowed five hours to make their creations come to life. These are not your ordinary sandcastles, though. So, bring your camera to capture all the cool sculptures that are brought to life by the teams!

The Preserve at Brand Beach is run by an HOA, rules and regulations may apply for this community. Please ask Ryson for more information regarding this. Parking is limited for the community so plan accordingly. A public parking area is located very nearby, and walking to the beach is less than 3-5 minutes to the water’s edge.
