Get Ready for Labor Day in Galveston 2020

Labor Day is fast approaching! It falls on Monday, September 7^th this year, and there are several events going on in Galveston during that weekend. Whether you want to just relax all weekend long, have a crammed itinerary of activities, or somewhere in between, Galveston is a great location to spend the holiday. There are plenty of family-friendly activities in Galveston that you could do on the holiday weekend.

Labor Day Weekend Events in Galveston

At Galveston’sEast Beach on Saturday, the 5^th, the Gulf Coast Volleyball Association is hosting the Labor Day Classic volleyball tournament. The Gulf Coast Volleyball Association is the largest outdoor volleyball association on the Gulf Coast. To take part in the competition, the fee is just $25 per person or $50 per team. The first 100 players to check in at the beach will receive a free t-shirt, so be sure to get there early if you want to compete!

On Sunday, September 6^th, from 11 AM to 5 PM, you and your family could enjoy the Galveston Family Beach Challenge. The event will be held at the beautiful Stewart Beach in Galveston and include games such as giant Jenga, Giant Connect 4, Volley Balloon, sand castle challenge, sack race, and much more! If that doesn’t sound like enough fun, there will be $2,000 worth of prizes for the first place winner! Second place will receive $500 in prizes and third will receive $250 in prizes.

For either relaxation or adrenaline-seeking folks, one of the Galveston waterparks would be a great option. There is a great water-park at Moody Gardens as well as the famous Schlitterbahn at Galveston water park to choose from.
